The Tenth International Workshop on Slow Positron Beam Techniques for Solids and Surfaces

The Tenth International Workshop on Slow Positron Beam Techniques for Solids and Surfaces (SLOPOS-10) will be hosted by The Scientific and Applied Research Centre (SARC).

The scientific part of the workshop will be held at the University of Qatar on 19th -25th March 2005.

The story behind our logo:

Qatar was the centre for pearl diving which constituted an important part of the country's economy. With the advent of the cultured pearl, the pearl industry collapsed in the 1930s.

To keep the importance of pearl diving in the history of Qatar, this shell with a lit pearl is placed on the cornich.

We decided to place our pearl "the positron" in a shell.
