Professor Theodor Hänsch Visits the Positron Laboratory
Nobel Laureate for Physics in 2005 Professor Theodor Hänsch Visited the Positron Laboratory at Qatar University on October 27. He had a quick tour of the university and had a long discussion with Prof. Ilham Al-Qaradawi and Dr. Dana Abdulmalik from the physics program about positron research at Qatar University. He expressed his admiration to the architecture of Qatar University buildings and about the positron research lab, his comment was; I am very impressed with the quality of research and even more amazed for you being able to build a facility such as the positron beam without any postgraduate students. Professor Theodor Wolfgang Hänsch, has delivered a talk on the topic ‘heartbeat of the light’ at Texas A& M University in Qatar on October 26 to an audience of Qatar Foundation students and local scientists. This is the fifth of the Distinguished Lecture series organized by Qatar Foundation Research Division.
